After winning the MotoGP Aragon race, Marquez once again showed perfection at the MotoGP San Marino. Winning twice in a row, he managed to maintain his position in third place in the current standings with 259 points.

Noted, the 8-time world champion is 53 points behind Jorge Martin in first place. It is not impossible for Marquez to join the competition for this season’s world championship title.

In MotoGP 2024, there are still seven races remaining with a maximum of 259 points in a total of 14 races. Marc Marquez said that he has not thought about winning the championship title and must be consistent in qualifying and the main race.

“The championship is still very long. With this result, we were further away last week and now we are closer but we still have the same mentality,” said Marquez, quoted from Motosan.

“If I want to compete for the world championship title, I cannot make mistakes like I did in qualifying. I have to be on the first or second row in qualifying because we cannot rely on rain every Sunday,” he continued.

“We are now closer but those ahead have a 50-point advantage, and even if they fail to finish, they are still in the lead.”

“While in my situation, if I fail then I will be scattered. However, anything can happen and my mentality is still the same: enjoy every race, build confidence, and build a good momentum for next season,” said the rider who will join Ducati next season.
