President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of delivering high-quality public services with transparency and integrity to all government officials at the national and regional levels, as well as state-owned enterprises. During a video conference for the inauguration of renewable energy projects in 15 provinces and the expansion of oil production in East Java, he urged officials to work efficiently, provide excellent service, and uphold clean management practices. The President also issued a stern warning against wasteful spending and financial leakages that could lead to corruption, stressing that addressing these issues would significantly boost Indonesia’s economy towards a just and prosperous society. He emphasized the need to eradicate corruption, stop waste, and prevent leakages to accelerate economic growth, improve people’s welfare, and advance Indonesia as a modern and prosperous nation. Furthermore, President Widodo mentioned reports indicating abundant reserves of oil and natural gas in Indonesia, highlighting the importance of renewable energy, particularly solar power, for the nation’s future. He explained that solar energy could lead to energy self-sufficiency for various regions, offering hope for Indonesia’s bright future. The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060, expressing confidence that Indonesia could lead the energy transition globally. He believed that Indonesia had the potential to be among the first countries to reach net-zero emissions on time, showcasing the nation as a leader in sustainability efforts and renewable energy initiatives.
