Previously, they had struggled to find adequate breakfast options, but since participating in the MBG program, her child now eagerly finishes every meal provided. Vincencia, who has been benefiting from the free meals for nine days, praised the delicious taste and nutritional value of the meals for her child. She also mentioned how the program has helped in establishing better eating habits for her family, making it easier to manage food distribution throughout the day.

Being in her ninth month of pregnancy, Vincencia is one of the many pregnant and breastfeeding mothers who directly benefit from the MBG nutrition service kitchens in her village. She expressed gratitude towards the government’s initiative to offer free and nutritious food to rural mothers and children, emphasizing the importance of providing meals with sufficient protein and variety for kids. Vincencia voiced her desire for the program to continue in the long run, recognizing its positive impact on community health enhancement.

Administered by the Tambolaka Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), the MBG program in Southwest Sumba is designed to supply meals to schools and health posts, with a specific focus on pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
