SUARA INDONESIA, JAYAPURA – The traditional figure of Jayapura City or Ondoafi Skouw Yambe Abisai Rollo, along with former Deputy Mayor of Jayapura H. Rustan Saru, attended a consultation and inauguration of the Chairman of the Tungku Manggarai Family Association of Jayapura City held at the Bina Iman Hall of the St. Yosep Entrop Catholic Church on Sunday (13/10/2024).
In the consultation, Vinsensius Jehandu was elected as the elected Chairman of the Tungku Manggarai Family Association of Jayapura City for the 2024-2029 period.
The presence of both figures, the candidate for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Jayapura for the 2024-2029 period, was warmly welcomed by the Manggarai Family through the traditional dance of the region.
In his speech, Abisai Rollo expressed his appreciation to the Manggarai Family of Jayapura City, especially to the new leadership of the Manggarai Tungku.
“To the new board members, it is hoped that they can strengthen unity and solidarity within the large Manggarai family in Jayapura City,” said Abisai Rollo.
Abisai also advised the Manggarai community to contribute to the development of Jayapura City, including keeping the city safe and conducive.
“We live in this city as residents of Jayapura City, therefore let us together build our city together, starting from the large Manggarai family,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Deputy Mayor of Jayapura H. Rustan Saru explained that the selection process of the association’s chairman conducted by the Manggarai family of Jayapura City should serve as an example for other harmonious relationships.
“The selection process carried out by the Manggarai family is very fair and democratic, so there will be no issues that could disrupt this good consultation result,” he said.
According to Rustan, with this new leadership, it will also be a new strength for the Manggarai Family Association of Jayapura City in the future.
“With this new leadership, there must also be a new spirit, so that in the future the Manggarai Family in this city will be more united and in harmony,” he concluded. (*)
